Footy was everything to me growing up. I trained hard, spent countless hours in the gym and thought that was enough. Work hard, get better. That was the plan.
As I got older, I started paying more attention to what I was doing—and more importantly, why I was doing it. I realised most of my training had very little to do with becoming a better footballer. I was training like a bodybuilder, not an athlete. I was getting stronger in the gym, but I wasn’t getting faster, more explosive or moving any better on the field. The things that were actually limiting my performance were simply being ignored.
That realisation sparked a genuine interest in strength and conditioning, human movement and how the body adapts to training. I immersed myself in learning, applying those principles to my own training before using them to help others.
The biggest lesson I learnt was that better performance isn’t about training harder—it’s about training with purpose.
That’s why I started AMP Coaching.
My goal is to help athletes and active adults stop guessing and start training with intent. By understanding how they move, identifying what’s holding them back and developing the physical qualities that matter most, I help people build strength that transfers beyond the gym and into sport and everyday life.
Everything I do is built around one simple belief: training should have a purpose.
Every exercise, every progression and every decision is there for a reason, to help you move better, perform better and continue making long-term progress.
Every exercise has a reason. Your training is designed to develop the physical qualities that matter most to your goals and not simply leave you tired.
Performance starts with how you move. Rather than working around limitations, I identify what’s holding you back and develop a strategy to address it, creating lasting improvements in strength, performance and resilience.
No two people move, recover or perform the same. Your training is built around your goals, your history and where you’re starting and not somebody else’s template.
Every decision is backed by current evidence, practical coaching experience and long-term thinking, giving you confidence that there’s purpose behind everything we do.
Whether you’re a young athlete looking to improve performance or an active adult wanting to move and feel better, coaching starts by understanding where you’re at and building your training around your individual goals.
